"are you looking for an independent family owned motel ?"
We found this gem going on 4 years ago...as a family we book 8 or more rooms for a weekend each year and had been staying elsewhere when that motel went down hill. My husband and I searched and searched we inspected motels, looked under beds, sniffed the air and looked at bathrooms. You guys are great and make you feel so welcome...take a look and check them out.
"Basic, Clean & Quiet"
We stayed at the Lido Motel in mid-July of 2010. The motel, like most of Lake George, is a throwback to the 1950's and 60's. The Motel has about seventeen rooms on two floors. The rooms look out onto the pool area and lawn.
The room was basic and clean. We had two double beds. There is a small (cable) multi - channel T.V., a refrigerator and a night table. The cupboard consisted of a metal pipe with plastic hangers, The ancient air conditioner was wall mounted, had two settings (on or off) and caused the walls to vibrate. The bathroom was very clean and had blue tiles a la 1950.
There was a small sink with no counter. Shampoo and conditioner were not provided, but soap was. There was no telephone. There were large windows on opposite walls which resulted in a nice cross-breeze.. There was no coffee maker.
There is a very clean swimming pool. There is no shade at the pool. Next to the pool is a large lawn with tables and umbrellas (see photos). There is a brick B B Q on the property along with two large picnic tables. There is an ice maker.
One of the best features is the quiet. It is removed from the main street with its crowds and un-muffled Harley Davidsons. But it is only a two minute stroll to "Downtown" with all its attractions. The price was competitive.
If a reasonable price with no frills is your criterion, this is an attrative establishment.
"Friendly, Accommodating, Clean"
All rooms are non-smoking, which we loved. Owners were friendly and accommodating. They placed us in a room away from small children to keep our stay as quiet and relaxing as possible. Honored 10% military discount as per lakegeorge.com website. Our room was bright, spacious, clean, and quaintly decorated. It was furnished with a queen-size bed, with two side tables, two lamps; the room also had a small table with two chairs, a large dresser, and a television (cable). The room had an airconditioner and a small clean refrigerator -- both worked very well. The room had no telephone, which was perfect for us. The bathroom provided two small wrapped soaps and an appropriate number of clean towel sets. Delicious coffee in the morning was located in the office. We had a very pleasant time in Lake George, and I would recommend this place to any traveler. Tips for travelers: *Although they have free w-fi, netbooks don't seem to access their network, *There's no phone in the room, so ensure you bring a cell phone if you need to make a call, *There's no mini-shampoos or mini-lotions in the bathroom, so ensure you bring your own toiletries. "Great Location and Great Hosts"
Lido Motel is located just one block behind town, this is great as there is no traffic congestion or noise. You can easily walk to town for shopping and restaurants from their location and no need to take your vehicle and then try to find parking. The motel is very clean and affordable. The owners, and Staffs are very hospitable and friendly. They truly are interested in their guests. We've been staying there for quite a few years and they have always maintained and improved the motel. We look forward to visiting the Lake George area again and will definitely be staying at the Lido Motel.

"Awesome, amazing place to stay!!!"
Mehmood have by far the best place to stay in Lake George! The motel is very close to the village (easy walking distance), very quiet, exceptionally clean, and the the bests hosts you could hope for. I love getting up in the am to the smell of fresh brewed coffee and a chair by the pool to relax and read the paper. Questions on where to go? where to eat? Just ask, they all know the lowdown on whats going on where and can and will give you great reccommendations! Again, we had a great visit and are looking forward to a trip back real soon!!!
"Cleanest , friendliest and nicest motel in the Lake George Area"
This is not my first year to stay at the Lido Motel, on Old Post Rd.. We had a family reunion there a couple of years ago and Mehmood went out of their way to accomodate us. She had games for the kids to play, set up umbrellas and awnings and couldn't do enough for us. Rooms are very comfortable and oh soooo clean,. The grounds are so pretty and well kept. They won an award last year for the upkeep and design of the lawns and gardens. We went back this year and were able to take advantage of the pool. Of course coffee is always on and its in walking distance to Lake George and the shopping. If you are going to Lake George make your reservations early, I promise you won't be sorry
My name is Hope. I stayed at the Lido Motel the 4th of July weekend 2009. The stay was so nice. Mehmood was so helpful and nice .The rooms were very clean, especially the bathroom.
